Our venture has been quite fortunate to have four fantastic team members who have worked night and day for Green Bridge Growers the past seven months - Tom Collins, Shane McCarthy, Conor O'Donoghue, and Anthony O'Sullivan. All hail from or attended school in County Cork, Ireland, all are engineers, and all just finished a graduate degree in science/engineering entrepreneurship at Notre Dame, the ESTEEM program. Collectively, they are known around ND as "the Cycling Irish" because they ride their bikes everywhere! And besides being all-out outstanding, they have the most charming brogues you'll ever find here in South Bend. As you can see from the photo above, they also have real panache and humor.

With their graduation approaching, two of our team, Anthony and Shane, just moved to Chicago. Tom and Conor remain here in South Bend. All will continue to have their hand in Green Bridge in the future, though the shape of that involvement will change with two of our team up in the Windy City.

Tom, the electronics engineer of the group, also has the distinction of having the most pleasant, booming voice of the lot - a voice that positively echoes with friendliness and good humor! Tom has a way with a hammer, too - skills acquired through hours of work with his father, who enjoys DIY projects and building things. Who has the snappiest wit of these fellows? It would most likely be Tom -- who also has a great way with words, friendship, and entrepreneurial know-how.
Shane, outside of Green Bridge, is a fab musician (singer, guitarist, pianist) and goes by the nickname of "Guru" for his assorted expertise. As an undergraduate, he won the "Student Marketer of Ireland" award for his marketing prowess - and he shined in that area with Green Bridge. Shane's background is in energy engineering, with water as a special focus, and he helped shape the many sustainable features of our venture as we researched and developed our business plan.
Anthony, when he's not working as a whiz-bang civil and environmental engineer and business strategist, has the distinction of being a first-round draftee in the Irish Gaelic Football League. Meaning that when he graduated from college last year, he passed up the Irish equivalent of the NFL to come to Notre Dame for his grad program. And oh, this native of County Kerry is also the All-Irish Checkers Champion -- the distinction of which he's most proud. If Anthony seems a versatile fellow, you've got the right impression.
Conor, our second civil and environmental engineer, not only juggles many talents (business planning,exacting wordsmith, computer graphics) but he knows how to juggle in real life! Conor is another who impresses us with his wit -- along with his patience, generosity, and creative spark. Conor is a crack photographer and he's the biggest surfing fan we know. He learned to surf the waves in Ireland, perfected his surfing skills as a college exchange student in California, and now loves to head to Lake Michigan to surf on its choppiest days - amazing!
The "Cycling Irish" have been a huge asset for Green Bridge. Along with their technical skills, they were all drawn to our venture out of the desire to use their business and engineering skills to improve people's lives -- especially the lives of those with autism. They're a brilliant bunch, and their brogues and their humor have made each day of working together a true pleasure. Looking ahead, we wish Anthony and Shane the very best as they take their degrees to Chicago and bring their terrific energy and wit up there!
